DaVinci Resolve remote monitoring FAQ
Does my client need to install DaVinci Resolve or a Remote Monitor app?+
No. Your client opens the FlowLabs room link in a supported web browser. Nothing needs to be installed on the client side.
Does FlowLabs run as a plugin inside DaVinci Resolve?+
No plugin is required. FlowLabs works alongside Resolve: route the output you already monitor into FlowLabs through your capture or streaming workflow, then share the browser room with your client.
Does FlowLabs replace DaVinci Remote Monitor?+
It is a different workflow. DaVinci Remote Monitor is a good native choice when everyone is already set up for it. FlowLabs is designed for reviews where fast browser access, built-in collaboration, or support for multiple creative applications matters more.
Can I use the same room for Premiere Pro, Avid, or Final Cut Pro?+
Yes. FlowLabs is not tied to one NLE. You can use the same client-review workflow with DaVinci Resolve and other editing, VFX, audio, and finishing tools.
Is the stream suitable for color review?+
FlowLabs is built to preserve far more picture detail and color fidelity than general video-conferencing tools. The client's display, browser, calibration, and viewing environment still affect what they see, so a browser session should not be treated as a substitute for a calibrated reference monitor when final color-critical sign-off requires one.
